There are many different things we have been working with in media fair. Here are some of the things we have worked with. I have worked on develop craft because I used some different tools and materials in the subtractive sculptures. I also used envision to make plans of what I would do to create all of these things.

My artwork is original because it is a drawing of me and there is only one of me. This literally shows you who I am but the Native Americans did other things to show who they were. This artwork is a drawing of myself. I have short brown hair, tan skin, and brown eyes. I made my artwork by taking a picture of me and then I sketched and colored what the picture looked like. The big idea of this is that this artwork literally shows my identity. My goal for this artwork was to make the drawing look as much like me as I possibly could. I think that this drawing is very similar to what I look like except I couldn't quite get the right color for my skin. Artist: Astronaut from NASA Title: Earth Observations taken during mission STS-111 UF-2. Date: 6/18/2002 Medium: camera Location: NASA I picked this artwork because I like to look at sunsets. I haven't seen it before and I don't know who the artist is. I like this artwork because it reminds me of the sunsets at my cabin. This artwork is a picture of a sunset. I think they took the picture because it looks really cool and they like sunsets. I think this artwork is successful because it is very eye catching for the viewer and it makes you relax. The three primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. The secondary colors are orange, green, and purple. Yellow is at the top because it is the lightest and brightest. I had the hardest time finding purple objects. My favorite object is the blue baseball glove because I love playing baseball and I am really disappointed that our season was taken away this year. The object that stood out the most in Mrs. Underhill's color wheel is the yellow Lysol bottle because it is big and bright.
I chose to do the nature/land art because we live in the woods and we have lots of nature supplies around here. My artwork looks like a miniature version of our firepit at our cabin with a log pile in the background. I made my artwork on my driveway. I used rocks and sticks. My artwork is original because I put the log pile in the background instead of just doing the firepit. The biggest challenge in making my art was getting the sticks in the firepit to stay balanced because it was kind of windy. The thing I liked the best about my artwork is that it looks like it could be full sized. It could just prove a point. For example, someone could make an artwork of all the garbage in the ditch by their house. My original plan for this artwork was to make an Easter egg. My work improved as I worked because as I kept drawing I got more comfortable drawing left-handed. Mrs. Underhill and my mom gave me feedback as I made my artwork. This improved my artwork because my mom suggested putting a face on it which made the whole thing look more happy. My artwork is an Easter egg on green paper. The top of it is orange, there are two horizontal pink lines with two eyes in between them, two pink circles for the cheeks, a blue jagged line, and five circles at the bottom. Four of the circles are red and the middle circle is black because it is the mouth. I cut out the egg and glued it on a yellow sheet of paper. Then I put Easter grass around the egg. I chose to draw an Easter egg because Easter was just last weekend. My limitation was to draw left-handed. My goal for the artwork was to make it look like a real Easter egg. I thought that my artwork was successful because the egg looks pretty realistic. My plan for this artwork is to make an Easter egg with flowers in the background. The limitation that I am doing is that I have to draw with my left hand. Other ideas I thought about were using only one color and using just one drawing utensil. My artwork is going good but I have to redo a lot of things because with my left hand I draw a lot more squiggly lines. Next I need to color my egg. I have been doing a lot of sleeping over the break so far. I have also been spending a lot of time outside with my brother and sister and I have been spending time with the rest of my family.
Multiple people told me that I should fix my dock so that it looks like it isn't a birds eye view. I did take their advice and made my dock angled so that it looks like you are standing on shore. I chose to use paint because I thought it would look good for my project. It is also fun to mix colors while you are painting to try to get the right one. I was looking up an artist that could be an inspiration for this artwork. I found LeRoy Neiman who is a famous sports artist and he is from Minnesota. I documented inspiration on my evidence sheet. My inspiration was LeRoy Neiman. One observation I can make about the materials I used is that the when you use the pen and ink you can get really good detail. Another observation I made is that the watercolor can get on your hands even when it is dry, so that is why there are orange marks on my paper. This was the first time that I used pen and ink for an art project. My artwork looks like a baseball going through a basketball hoop. There is a basketball court in the background so the baseball seems kind of out of place. In my artwork I used pen and ink, watercolors, and sharpies. My artwork shows that two of my favorite sports are baseball and basketball. My goal was to make the baseball look real and for it to really fit in with the basketball court. I thought that this artwork turned out really good except for the orange spots that smeared from the watercolors. |
